Description:
The opening ceremony of the CBSE Cluater - IV East Zone Lawn Tennis Championship 2024 was held at DPS Shaheedpath on 28th September 2024. This annual event aims to bring together approximately 30 schools from the East Zone, providing a platform for young athletes to collaborate, compete and showcase their exceptional sporting talent. The Championship was inaugurated by Mr. Atal Kumar Rai (IAS), Director of Panchayati Raj, U.P. Government who was the guest of honour for the event. Also present were school dignitaries Principal, Dr. Manju Lakahanpal, Vice Principal, Mrs. Swati Singh Malhotra and Admission Head Mrs. Divya Singh. After lighting of the lamp the school choir presented a beautiful welcome song for all the participants. Our chief guest Mr. Atal Kumar Rai was felicitated by the Principal and Vice Principal. He then addressed all the schools telling them the importance and impact sports has on one's personality and how every child apart from their studies should take up one sport of his / her liking. Thereafter, all the participating teams were introduced and the Tennis Championship was declared open by releasing balloons I'm the air and lighting the torch.
