The reinvigorated spirit of sportsmanship found its way to echo in the Annual Sports Day 'Verve' in the fields of DPS, Shaheedpath on 23rd December 2022. A day filled with fervor and exhilaration, amidst thrills and cheers began with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr. S.N. Sabat, IPS, Director General (Vigilance) UPPCL, Lucknow. He was accompanied by Dr. S. P. Dwivedi, IPS SP(Crime) UPPCL, Lucknow and Shri Santosh Kumar Singh Dy. S.P Lucknow Range. They were led forward by the guiding lights and stalwarts of the institution, PVC Mr. Abhishek Pal, CEO Mrs. Swati Pal, The Principal, Dr. Manju Lakhanpal, The H.M. Mrs. Swati Singh Malhotra. The pious ceremony of invoking the blessings of the almighty was followed by the felicitation of the Guests and a welcome speech by HM Mrs. Swati Singh Malhotra. Henceforth the Guard of Honour presented by our crisp and dynamic students in synchronised marching was a treat to the beholders. After the ceremonial oath taking, lamp lighting and releasing of the balloons came the time for the plethora of much awaited events to commence. The students participated in the various races and drills with ultimate vigour and enthusiasm. The Bunny Race, crab race and pair race by the Prep and Pre-nursery stars were a delight to watch. The contagious excitement of the little ones rubbed itself on all. The abundant energy of the students channelised in the right direction was setting the tempo and the premises were reverberating with the audience cheering for the athletes. Zumba, Pom-pom drill, aerobic drill, umbrella drill, hoola hoop drill, saw active participation by everyone. The speech by our CEO Mrs. Swati Pal was truly enlightening whwrik she encouraged parents to understand the importance of Sports and see it at the same par with Academics. The parents gathered in large numbers, constantly applauded the participants. Taekwondo presentation was an ultimate hit with all. In the subsequent Prize Distribution, the Winners of various events were given medals, trophies and certificates. The ceremony amidst cheers was a joyous sight to behold. A riot of hues and vibrance, 'Verve' aced it and was loved and appreciated by all. The icing on the cake was the Grand Finale with the theme 'Unity in Diversity'. The Principal, Dr. Manju Lakhanpal, a visionary much ahead of her time, in her Vote of Thanks, emphasised the importance of sports in holistic education of students.
