Description:
The 74th Republic Day on 26th January this year 2023, brought with it the ever auspicious Basant Panchami. The Management, the faculty and the students at DPS, Shaheedpath celebrated the two festivals with the expected and required gaity, grandeur and sincerity. The smooth amalgamation of programmes pertaining to the two festivals was surely commendable and a treat to the beholders. The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag. The soulful rendition of the National Anthem swelled every bosom with patriotism. Hereafter, paying reverence to Goddess Saraswati, the epitome of knowledge, music and art, Saraswati Puja was performed which was followed by a beautifully well coordinated Saraswati Vandana. The aromatic smoke of incense sticks and cones filling the entire campus, added to the divinity of the day. A patriotic song sung by the school choir was followed by a speech by Sakshi Singh, a student of class IX. She briefed everyone with the ideals and importance of Republic Day, reminding all to contribute towards the country's betterment. After the speech, the dance performance with peppy beats and crisp moves was appreciated by all. Considering it the best day for donning the mantle of responsibility and taking the accountability pledge, now was the time for the Investiture Ceremony. The solemn ceremony was conducted and the bitter-sweet exchange of duties carried out. The office bearers of the previous session 2022-23 handed over the flags to the newly elected office body for session 2023-24. Standing tall with their flags the office body took the oath to always hold close to their hearts the motto of the institution “Service before self”. Remembering fondly the days spent in service, the Head Girl, Erisha Yadav shared her learnings and inspired the newly elected body to put their heart and soul into the responsibility they're entrusted with. The newly elected Head Girl, Aditi Singh and Head Boy, Aryan Srivastava also gave speeches expressing their gratitude, promises and aspirations. The occasion proved to be an exhilarating moment for all the office bearers. Our CEO Swati Pal mam congratulated the office bearers & told them what responsibilities they hold on their shoulders & how they should strive to give back to their Alma Mater. The day ended with an awe inspiring speech by the principal, Dr. Manju Lakhanpal. She appreciated the efforts put in by all to make the day a memorable one. Lauding the service rendered by last session's student council, she motivated and encouraged the newly elected ones to take all obstacles and challenges in their stride and keep moving ahead.
