Description: Delhi Public School, Shaheedpath, had the privilege of hosting an enchanting SPIC MACAY event (initiative by the government of India) , aimed at nurturing cultural awareness and appreciation among students. The school resonated with the mellifluous strains of Indian classical music as Vidushi Dr. Sucharita Gupta, an eminent vocalist and a devoted preserver of Banarasi Thumri, Dadra, Chaiti, and Hori, graced the stage with her captivating performance. She was accompanied by Pandit Lalit Kumar and Pandit Pankaj Mishra , whose soulful accompaniments elevated the musical experience to sublime heights. The performance transported the audience to an ethereal world of melody and devotion, offering a glimpse into the timeless beauty of India’s rich cultural tapestry. The students had a truly enlightening experience as they were introduced to the nuances of Dadra, kajri, and other classical forms that form the very foundation of Indian music. Their faces reflected joy and wonder as they immersed themselves in the rhythm and soul of the performance.
